My first full year of being a legal adult is over as of tomorrow. Yet I still feel immature as ever haha.

yea that for sure! but what i need to learn is shadowing and lighting! i know where to put it on a block and a ball but if i need to put it on a character like clothing, muscles and stuff then i dont know where to put them! so...

It's pretty much the same concept. Just imagine whatever character your drawing as a 3-dimensional figure, decide where the light source is, and just use common sense to figure out where light hits and where light doesn't hit. The best way to get used to this concept is to sketch from real life- find real objects [more complicated than spheres and such] and note where the shadows are. See? Practice. Art classes help too.
